Best of 2023

2023 has been a crazy year with a lot of different things going on for which photography has been a good escape from. Here are my favorite images that I made this year.

NHL Eastern Conference Finals – Game 2

Carolina fell to the Panthers in overtime for the second game in a row. As a fan of the Canes, the result was disappointing, but the experience of being at an Eastern Conference Finals game was still exciting! I took my Sony A7R2 with the Leica 90mm f/4 Elmar lens in order to have a kit that was small enough to be allowed by the arena but still allowing a decent bit of reach. Here are my favorite images from […]

The GFX.

As a photographer who has shot film exclusively since 2013, I find it amusing to write a post about a digital camera series from Fujifilm, the GFX. But here we are and I have quite a bit to say on the subject, so let’s go. January 2023: Kodak announces yet another price hike, to be effective in March 2023. I put together a shopping cart with enough E100 for a year or so at pre-March 2023 prices in an effort […]

FPP Infrachrome in the Land of Oz

Ever since reading about this park some 15 years prior, I’ve wanted to go visit and see what it was all about. Getting to go was exciting and while I had no idea what to expect, I’d […]

North Carolina Winter

Late February seems awfully late for a first snowfall, but that is where we are this year in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I hope that you enjoy these tranquil scenes of the sun starting to shine through the snowy trees after 3 inches fell the night before.

New Mexico Gallery Added!

I am pleased to announce that I have put a gallery on this site showcasing recent film work done in New Mexico. The films represented are Kodak Tri-X, Kodak Ektar, and Kodak Portra 800. The images have been made on either 4×5 film or 120 film in a 6x6cm format. Visiting Northern New Mexico again for the first time in six years was an excellent experience! We flew into Albuquerque, spent some time there, and then relocated to the little […]

Best of 2019

Culling down a selection of images for 2019 that represent the best has been a difficult task this time around. As such, there’s more here than I presented in the Best of 2018 post from last year. All 3 formats that I shoot in are represented here, but with most of the work being made with the Minolta Autocord in the 6×6 format. Having gotten to visit Northern New Mexico, Charleston, South Carolina, and the North Carolina Mountains and Coast […]
